NAAR 2023 Video Recap

Hello, I'm Jessica Garard, your 2023-2024 Northern Arizona Association of REALTORS® President. NAAR’s mission is to supports member advancement through professional development and community partnerships while promoting professionalism & ethics in our ever-changing real estate industry. As your President, I’m also committed to fostering an environment where our members thrive, where their voices are heard, and where we can collectively contribute to the healthy growth and prosperity of Northern Arizona.

As we look back on the year we've had, it's encouraging to see the impact we've made together so I want to take a moment to appreciate some of the remarkable events and initiatives that have defined our community of real estate professionals over the last year.

First and foremost, a big shoutout to our dedicated Board of Directors for their outstanding leadership. Your commitment has been the guiding force behind our success, and we are grateful for your tireless efforts. Our leadership team was thrilled to introduce the revamped NAAR website, offering a more interactive experience with a comprehensive calendar of events, a monthly newsletter, and a communications archive. It's your go-to hub for all things NAAR and we hope that you’ve benefitted from this change.

A special thanks to our Community Outreach Committee for making a difference in the world around us. From trail cleanups to volunteering at the Flagstaff Family Food Center and organizing blood drives, you've embodied the spirit of service and have played a prominent role staying front and center in our community.

Meanwhile, our RAPAC/Advocacy Committee has been hard at work, organizing events like the Spring Silent Auction, which raised an impressive $6,670. Remember, RAPAC funds are used to build the future by putting dollars in place to  advance our REALTORS® party. Their dedication to advocacy through community engagement with the Phone Bank and Coffee with REALTORS® was incredibly successful and much appreciated.

Embracing diversity has been a key focus for our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee. The 'Through My Eyes' art show and our proud sponsorship of Pride events are just a few examples of our commitment to fostering an inclusive community. Our new Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Scholarship is yet another example of how NAAR is working to provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals of all backgrounds, beliefs, and abilities.

In addition to bringing free monthly Lunch ‘N Learns and Continuing Education to our members, another strong initiative has been our focus on our member’s health and wellness, establishing a new Wellness Task Force within our Professional Development Committee. The 'Fly Health + Wellness Member Benefit' and the self-defense class with the Coconino County Sheriff's Department were some of our most noteworthy events for member involvement, along with our NAAR Cherish the Moments Walk sponsorship.

And finally, the holiday season is always made brighter with our Annual Christmas Breakfast. Thanks to your generosity, we raised a total of $4,652.53, donating $2000 to the Casa Giving Tree program and the balance was used to purchase gifts for 30 grandparents through the Adopt a Grandparent program. NAAR sponsored an additional 30 children and youth through the Casa Giving Tree program with additional funds.

To each and every member who contributed to these events and initiatives, thank you for making Northern Arizona Association of REALTORS® such an amazing example of what it means to care for your community. Your dedication to one another is what makes our Association truly exceptional. As we step into the New Year, I’m excited to continue to champion all real estate professionals in our region, especially our REALTORS®. Together, let's make 2024 a testament to the strength and resilience of our community. Thank you for the trust you've placed in me, and I can't wait to see what we can do next year!
