"I am sure you all are as excited as I am to start seeing more homes hit the market. Yes, they seem to be going pending just as quickly but at least we are having homes to show. As our summer selling season approaches I am hoping you all can take a moment to focus on yourselves. As REALTORS® we are constantly “on,” and it is hard for us to take a break. We are all such people pleasers and want to say yes to every request. While being there for our clients is a priority we need to make time for ourselves. Plan a vacation with your family, even if it is a short one, and don’t worry about your escrows. Go to dinner with some friends and leave your phone behind. Go to a yoga class in the middle of the day. Get outside and discover a new wonder in Northern Arizona. Take a deep breath. Ask for help when you need it. Find an agent you trust in your office who can cover for you while you recharge. Please know that all of the members of the Board are here to help and support any way we can. As agents we are too often wearing ourselves too thin.
If you see someone in your office struggling, give them a hug, take them to coffee, make them laugh. If an agent on the other side of a phone call sounds “off” ask them if everything is okay. This business can feel like a lonely one but there are so many great people in our association that will jump at the chance to help. The heart of this association lies in the amazing support we show each other. I love seeing all the love you have for each other. Keep on being inspiring!"
NAAR to Host RAPAC Silent Auction
The Northern Arizona Association of REALTORS® will be hosting our first RAPAC Silent Auction online Monday, May 22 – Friday, May 26, 2023. Why invest in RAPAC?
RAPAC funds are used to build the future by putting dollars in places that will advance the interests of REALTORS®. Special thank you to NAAR's RAPAC Committee for highlighting some of the reasons why they've invested in 2023.
Contributions to RAPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal or otherwise affecting your membership rights. 70 percent of each contribution will be sent to Arizona PAC for state and local activities. Contributions to National RPAC are charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C 441a. Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes.
April is Recognized as Fair Housing Month
Fair Housing Month provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations to reflect on the ongoing fight for housing equity and to reaffirm our commitment to create more inclusive and fair communities. NAAR's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee is dedicated to advancing fair housing practices and promoting inclusivity in the housing sector, especially in Northern Arizona.
If you haven't already, make sure you make a trip to the town of Fairhaven. Remember to be an advocate for fair housing and commit to combating discrimination in real estate.
Community Art Contest Recap
In celebration of Diversity & Fair Housing Month and in collaboration with Creative Flagstaff and Downtown Business Alliance, NAAR's Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Committeeprovided a platform for youth artists to have their artwork displayed downtown during April's First Friday ArtWalk.
The second annual art contest was a huge success in bringing the community together and showcasing the theme 'Through My Eyes: Diversity in My Community.'
Thank you to all that participated in helping with this event!
New mobile responsive website for NAAR
Earlier this year the NAAR Board of Directors voted in favor of creating a new website that would allow the association to have more ownership over its content. We’re excited to announce its launch this May and encourage all members to provide feedback at feedback@nazrealtor.com.
